Do the Ten Commandments really have any place in the new covenant experience?

Under the new covenant, God writes His laws in our hearts through the Spirit; Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrews 8:10. No matter how far back into the jungle one might travel, God was there long before them writing His commandments within that people's heart. They know in heart not to steal, kill, etc. They love and God is love.
