Getting him Back?

ok theres this guy who happened to be mny best friend until we went out 4 like 3 days he had liked me for a long time but now since he has broken up with me his best friend is dating my best friends and now we see eachother every where and i still like him. Today when i was going to my homeroom i was lookin at a book and he was talkin to my best friends boyfriend and i heard him say "why didn't she even look" and he was like yellin to try to make me look at him but i kept my face in the book. Does that mean he is interested in me and if not how can i win him back???????? He is single so i don't have to get him from a girl i just want to make him mine again and i have been like depressed and please dont say just go up 2 him and tell him how u feel cuz i wont i am 2 shy and he is not and would make a big deal out of it cuz he mite not like me. HELP me PLEASE!!!!
