Algae eaters?

Oto's are fun and pretty durable. I have never had one grow more than an inch and a half. As far as what fish to not mix with it, my girlfriend has guppies and one Oto and he ate off all the fins to the guppies. Personally, mine is usually the one to get picked on by my platies and gourami's. Every night I put in an algae wafer and he will graze on that. Bottom feeders usually eat at night, and may starve if not given enough food in the evening when they are actually scavenging. Sometimes I put a cuber slice attached to the wall and he'll be amused by that for hours.
